What are your favourite games?
We love playing games as a family. It is a great opportunity to bond and have fun together but it also has so many ‘hidden’ gems in the learning realm.
Games have the opportunity for children to learn life skills such as: (to name a few of the benefits)
In our house we have some of the old favourites such as Monopoly but we also have some newer additions to our family collection such as Cluedo and not to miss the card games and staples of Skipbo and Uno, they are a definite favourite for us and one or the other always come on holidays with us just in case. Skipbo came with us on our recent overseas holidays and while we played a few times in NZ it just came as a security blanket for the trip to UK and Italy as we were just too busy squeezing in adventures.
Unquestionably our go to game is, Skipbo….for ease, transportability, number of players and on goes the list not to mention the learning opportunities as well as the family fun factor.
What’s your favourite family game?
Often, we veer from the most popular Skipbo to other games depending on the situation (& location) and we are always up for and eager to try new games.
We are fortunate to have been able to add some new games to our game’s repertoire.
Have you played Googly Eyes Showdown? Or The Game of Things? Or Boomtrix? Or Rubik’s Race? Or Tri-ominos? Stay tuned for some reviews on these newer games.
