This is not a ‘judgey’ post or rant about some not taking the right steps to keep kids safe or how we should all do more, be better or any of that. As the saying goes “it takes a village” SK is supporting part of the village with keeping child safety in our minds today as we edge closer to the weekend, or the school holidays, or that trip away, or the trip to the grocery store or even just hanging around the house today in that home day. Keeping our children safe is paramount, we all agree on this, this is not news to any of us, but sometimes, just sometimes we lose focus as we are so swamped with other things in our day to day lives with everything we have to do and remember that sometimes it gets all muddled.
There are so many hidden dangers and constant dangers in the home, out and about and everywhere how do we go about keeping on top of it? How do we go about maintaining our child is safe? How do we keep on top of it all? We work together in our village and support each other in our knowledge and so in saying that we wanted to re-share that SK has a section on safety https://www.seriouslykids.com.au/articles/safety/ which, as with everything as we learn more, new inventions or initiatives or we simply fine tune our way of thinking or think of new things keeps expanding with tips and ideas on ways to safety proof our lives but you can never be armed with too much information on how to keep your precious little ones safe. There are articles and checklists with tips, tools and strategies to help us.
Supervision and safety precautions are the best prevention in removing the risks as much as possible. We all have the fundamentals such as emptying the bath water straight after a bath, keeping chemicals and hazardous items out of reach and/or in a locked cupboard, covers on power outlets, helmets on when riding a bike or scooter and so on…..
And we also want to share a new resource. Consumer.org contacted SK to share their fantastic child safety guide and we are so pleased to be able to spread the word with their tips as well in order to keep our kiddies safe and hopefully prevent accidents and injuries.
