What bedding not to add to your baby’s bed
A good, safe sleep environment equals the potential to a good night sleep.
Be mindful as not all products available are needed in your baby’s bed.
All bedding is not all equal nor is bedding necessarily appropriate.
There are also many options and variations available.
When it comes to bedding for your baby there are some wonderful designs and sets.
There is bedding for the cot, the bassinet, and it also includes sleeping bags, swaddles, wraps, etc. However, they are not always needed or considered safe.
What bedding NOT to use
There is bedding that should not be used as it is not essential but also it considered dangerous.
They are not needed for a baby and it’s been linked to suffocation and poses potential hazards such as reducing the air flow for babies.
It is recommended from SIDS not to use such products to prevent the high risk of injury or death.
The type of bedding recommended not to be used are:
- Cot bumpers.
- Frills.
- Quilts.
- Pillows.
- Toys or stuffed animals, etc.
Generally it is recommended that only the necessary bedding is needed in your baby’s bed with the ability to remove layers as the temperature dictates.
