Your 5 year old has developed such independence and confidence. They are proud and confident in their skills.
Whilst so much growth and development has occurred and they have enormous confidence the family is still the centre of your 5 year old’s world. They will seek praise.
Through the increase in their independence there is also the ability and development to be more in control of their behaviour which generally equates to fewer tantrums and arguments.
Your 5 year old can be reasoned with. They will ask serious questions and will be interested in the responses and may prompt for additional information as well.
They may still confuse fantasy with reality at times, however, the differences is becoming more clear.
A 5 year old can distinguish right from wrong, and honesty and dishonesty, although does not understand or recognize intent.
They are still quite naive in their thinking as they have not yet developed adult type logic.
