Observing child development

Observations provide the opportunity to learn more about a child and where they are at developmentally.
Observing, and then documenting is critical to form a holistic understanding and picture of where a child is at.
Observations alone are not enough. They provide an insight for us to use in conjunction with collecting other information to document and assess a child’s growth, development and learning.
Observations facilitate planning, and reflecting on ways to offer experiences to support and enhance a child’s learning.
