Have you heard about the fantastic series True to life Books?
Jan Latte is a professional wildlife photographer and she is so passionate about combining her love of photography with educating children about endangered animals and the importance of wildlife conservation that she has developed a series of books. We love a good book with meaning and purpose!
Jan not only is the photographer for all the shots within the book she is the author and publisher of the series.
Her latest book, the one we had the chance to review, Sleepy the Sloth, being the latest edition to her true-to-life education series.
We love having the chance to do a review but particularly love a good book review and in this case the book itself is fantastic but we also were taken with the overall work and educational opportunities that Jan provides.
This book: Sleepy the Sloth incorporates an extensive amount of research (5 years of dedicated research) along with Jan’s photography (shot on location in Costa Rica) coupled with the proof reading of her information to ensure accuracy of information by an expert zoologist to create the book.
Sleepy the Sloth (True to life books RRP $15.00) is a collection of 48 photographs alongside a simple narrative, informing children about these remarkable creatures and highlighting the threat to their existence.
The bonus feature of this book is that at the end of the story it containing maps, interesting facts and fun activities to enhance the educational value and fun.
We highly recommend taking the time to visit her website to learn more about the various other opportunities to explore and learn about animals and view some amazing footage in her video collection.
