We stayed at the Woodgate section of the Burrum Head National Park. It was a small site with only 12 camp sites in a round circle. It was not right on the water but quite close within a few metres to walk through the track to reach the water and it was a lovely inlet bay type area. There were cold showers and flushing toilets that were maintained by the Rangers.
On the day we left we went via the beach rather than the 5 km sand track. This area is only accessible because of the sand track by 4WD vehicles and it is a lot easier (and quicker) with much less bumps if you have the ability to leave via the beach. The beach is a vehicle accessible beach and we only took the caravan on our way out as it was a little caravan. There were people taking their boats along the beach so we figured that they were about equal in weight so it would be OK.
There was some newly completed looking beach houses and the Woodgate Beach Hotel to stay at aside from the caravan park if you didn’t want to stay at the National Park.
