Rainbow Beach is a complete beach goers tourist destination as well as being the gateway to Fraser Island.
It is a small little town that swells with tourists but still feels like a little beach side paradise.
The caravan park is right in the middle of the village and some of the sites have water views.
We were lucky enough to be one of the ones who experienced the water view site.
Rainbow Beach itself is said to be named after its colourful sands. It is also a 4wd spot.
The facilities were excellent. The several amenities that were clean and well kept and had been renovated recently. There was also a:
Each amenity was closed for cleaning each day for 2 hours so cleanliness was important to them.
There was no kids section of the park…no playground.
There is nothing we can fault here in fact the attention to detail for the customers experience was solid. For example, entering the laundry to do a load of washing a worker was there to clean up the floor outside of the cleaning times as they had found it was wet and sandy and wanted to make sure it was clean and safe.
There is also their own private tractor driver that comes and delivers your caravan onto the beachfront site so as to make it easier for you and he comes and collects it off the site when you leave as well.
It was $180 for the 4 nights we stayed that included the 10% discount for being a Top tourist park member.
We paid extra per night for the beach view of $3/night. The rate was $37 for 2 adults and $8/extra person.
I really is a no need for the car location (unless you are driving on the beach). It was in the centre of the town and directly overlooked the water with a road in between. We did find though that there was a car park in front of the beach front sites. Now while it was parallel parking along the road it did obstruct our (and others) views from time to time but having said that that was outside of the parks control and it wasn’t very often or for very long as the beach car park was further down a few hundred metres and most parked there.
I must say that we fell in love with Rainbow Beach. It honestly was a nice park as well not just for the fabulous place it was in. It was a 3 star rating for the caravan sites and I think that was about right too.
