We were given the fantastic opportunity to review Jonar & Kitty: A Timekeepers Void. Author and illustrator Bobbie Richardson has crafted an enchanting tale.
Reviewing books in this house is always a little like Christmas morning…. we love books. And to have a book to review where the audience was targeting more the girls age meant that they were in reading heaven.
“Jonar & Kitty is an original and enjoyable adventure for YA readers that the girls have become engrossed in the enchanting tale”
You can imagine how excited Miss 10 & 12 were to find that finally there was a book that they got to help on the review as it was a book targeting their age. Miss 10 has recently discovered Harry Potter and Miss 12’s favourite series is the Del Tora Quest, so this book filled with magical and mystical storylines and adventures was right up their alley.
Ever since the girls were little we, like thousands of others, read just before bed. This tradition probably didn’t start as early as some but it has remained even now they can read their own novels. So every night I tuck them in and then sit and read to them.
The best people to review this book are the readers that it is aimed at…. the best review would be from the targeted audience themselves…..Miss 10 & Miss 12.
The mixture of odd animals/creatures draws you in. The quests purpose is a little unclear in the beginning but the story itself is great. I particularly like how it is anonymous towards evil at the beginning and they have lots of riddles. I really like the fantasy in this book.
It’s exciting, adventurous, descriptive. The start is a little confusing to get into it but it all makes sense as you read. I like how it flips between the worlds and it is not just in the one place.
