Play ideas for 4-8 months
what to do…to do….some ideas that will have them entertained
- Carry baby different ways- i.e. with their face facing out, hold baby over your shoulder, etc so they can see the world in various ways
- Place them in various positions- i.e. sitting, lying across your legs, etc
- Peek-a-boo
- Lots of tummy time
- Pulling and pushing games- rolling a ball, tug of war with a toy in fun, etc
- A tactile experience- allows them to play and feel various materials
- Play games that make lots of noise or where you play hide and seek with a toy
- Toys that they can start to hold/grasp
- Toys that they can put in their mouth
- Teething rings/toys
- Mobile toys- ones that you can get to move
- Activity centres
- A rug with various materials to feel and some that make noises as touched
- Noisy toys- ones with sirens, etc
- Room to move.
